Added 2 pumps of easy green after testing.
Rotala has started growing back and is looking nice. The spider plant on the surface also seems to have finally really taken to the tank, especially after moving it to the side.
It's been pretty hot here and I have struggled to keep the house cool. As a result, while the heaters target temp has been set to 74 I have been seeing the temperature get as high as 78. I decided to lower the temperature to 72, to keep the floor temperature a little lower.
I did a heavy glass scraping before taking the tank photo above.
I have owned several different scrapers and a magnetic sponge. While the magnetic sponge is great, it only works for a certain level of build up.
I owned several scrapers that were essentially blunt metal on a stick, these tended to be unwieldy and didn't work very well.
A few months ago I came across this scraper which uses replaceable razor blades instead of a static edge. Huge improvement over previous scrapers and it works really well. Be warned tho, it is easier to accidentally scratch the glass while using this scraper and you need to be a little more careful than you would be working with a blunt edge.
